Anime Spring 2025 Weekly Ranking June 13th to June 19th

These rankings are as of the episodes premiering June 13th to June 19th

S: Must Watch

Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.

1. Kowloon Generic Romance. Ep. 11

Regret being what allows one to see Kowloon makes a lot of sense. There are still many mysteries around what generic terra is and how it does its magic, but the key to see it is simple enough and represented well by Yaomei and others like here.

Of course, just when you thought we got the biggest reveal yet we get yet another one. Kowloon is based on Kudo’s memories of the old Kowloon. The cat shed appearing was an insane way to show this, but it is concrete proof alongside the disappearance of Xaohei - may she rest in piece.

Kudo is likely the one with the most regret in Kowloon given how he lost his fiancée, though is this also the key for who the memories are taken from? I wonder if this will be answered as we’re likely to have more of a focus on moving past such regret as shown by Yaomei who is going to confront her mother, and Reko-pon who has been doing so the entire season.

The ending was heartbreaking of course, I hope Yaomei will see Reko again, though that may be wishful thinking.

9/10

2. Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX. Ep.11

I had so much to say about this episode, IS THAT A FREAKING RX-78? Even as someone with little to no knowledge of the entire gundam universe, that gundam is universally known and was awesome to see. Is this the final battle? What happens after that?

Nobody knows. As Nyaan said, things just happened. Machu also improved by a lot to be able to dodge the bits as she did and win the battle overall.

Char being hidden was a cool reveal, but I must say that Challia has been handling business. None of the others were a match for him and I just love his Gundam overall.

Aw man, that ending was just so good. The classic music and the RX-78 just floating in, like Ichigo showing up to save the day with his theme roaring in the back ground.

I should watch more Gundam. 9/10

3. Lazarus. Ep.11

What a way to end the episode man, never thought we’d see Axel in such a dire position. I’m sure he’ll make it out but then what about Doug and Eleina?!

Hersch is also in a bad position that I have little hope she can get out of with ease. Which leaves us with no choice but to hope Leland can save the day, or that Christine can save Axel at least.

Whatever the case, I enjoyed the action in this episode, Mappa hasn’t disappointed a single time in that respect, but with only two episodes left I wonder how they will wrap it up.

Of course, they could go with a season 2 but I’m not sure if anything of the sort has been confirmed.

Stay with us Axel, 8.5/10

4. Wind Breaker S2. Ep. 25

And so season 2 comes to an end. Overall, I enjoyed this season a lot and it was one of my favorites of the season.

Sakura has grown a lot as a character and enjoyed his arcs. Of course, the final arc was the most enjoyable given the subjects they hit but also Sakura showing that his progression is sticking to his character.

With that, we now have the reveal of some major bosses. I thought Endo would be trouble, but Takiishi looks like a boss straight out of a video game, great design.

I hope season 3 gets announced, let me check… nothing so far but I hope we get it soon!

Very very good, I like fights. 8.5/10

A: Very Good

Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.

5. Witch Watch, Ep. 11

Wow, I applaud the twist. Keigo being a twist villain was a great and unexpected reveal. His reasons for it are understandable, having to give up what you love is difficult for everyone after all.

Now I wonder how Nico and Kanshi will fare against the army of dogs. Kanshi is strong, but if Nico is unable to attack others than the numbers will be difficult to overcome.

We could see Nemu be the support that helps Mio win, and as a Nemu enthusiasts that would make my day!

8.5/10

6. The Apothecary Diaries. Ep. 46

And so MaoMao knows who Jinshi really is now.

I can understand the dilemma with the order, honor and prestige and yada yada. I’m all for saving lives however and I’m glad Jinshi made the decision he did. Now, however, I wonder how his role in the palace will change if it all since he may ask for his identity to be kept secret still.

Now then, those kids 100% took the revival drug. As for how MaoMao will save them, I’m sure she’ll ask for the burials to be left open or something similar.

Loulan’s arc has been my favorite so far. She’s much more capable then her persona reveals, and I believe she will save her sister. Still, I would like it if she lived as well.

8.5/10

7. Aharen-San. Ep. 11

The author has done an excellent job with conveying how it feels for a part of life like high school coming to an end. It also makes me sad as it feels as if this is it for the anime, but if it is ending then the heartwarming scenes in this episode were fantastic.

Aharen is such a sweetheart. Paired with Raido, I can’t remember the last time I’ve supported and fawned over a couple like this in anime. Both are such fantastic characters that represent the struggle of uncertainty in the future well but also show that it is possible to succeed while also cherishing what you have.

Few tears near the end, well done Aharen.

8.5/10

B: Good/Solid

Yandere Dark Elf. Ep.11

I swear this isn’t the first ecchi to end on a beach episode, I just can’t put my finger on the other one.

Now then, puberty is rough. As much as Hinata can try, it’ll be difficult to resist all that being thrown at you and he should just be honest if wishes to put Belle at ease.

Then again, this is echhi we’re talking about. Lots of rear view as of late, I’m not complaining. But since this ending, I still say the best ending is harem!

6/10

Please Put Them On, Takamine-san. Ep. 12. FINAL

Say what you want about this anime, the twist to the play was so much fun it had me cheering for Shouta of all people. His improv line was so good that that I may believe that Takamine actually likes him now.

Overall, this was fun despite some of the crazy and downright unbeliecable antics they pulled off. For example, the mid play closet action. The ending and kiss was great, so I’ll give it a passing grade.

Where does it rank in my all time ecchi’s? Well, it has the honor of saying it kept me watching to the end and was fun at some points.

Alright, I enjoyed it. 7/10

C: It’s ok/Fine

These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.

D: Do Not Recommend

Shows I do not recommend you watch for various issues.

F: Bad

Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.

Some words

More to come soon!
