These rankings are as of the episodes premiering July 25th to July 31st

S: Must Watch

Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.

1. Takopi’s Original Sin. Ep. 5

What a twist! Excellent writing, my lord I never expected that.

So Takopi has come from the future in which he helped Marina and came back to kill Shizuka so that Marina’s future goes somewhat better.

Seeing them in the future was a little strange as they still look similar in all honesty, but their situations or no less grim. Shizuka has been moved around, and Marina still lives under extreme abuse.

Takopi is such an innocent being, truly believing that killing will fix everything despite not understanding it before he has done so. We see him realize the effects of it which was great, but now he is left with the consequences of killing who he once wished to save. The memroies returning bring that message of killing Shjizuka, but I doubt he will do it. Or, he may have to.

Shizuka has lost it, or maybe she was never all there after all she has gone through. Willing to go through anyone and everything for the last reason she has to live, I believe Shizuka will follow through with her crazy plan despite the idea of Chappy being dead settling in her mind. But that is even more reason for her to do it, she is grasping at the last of her reason to live, and that makes many make insane decisions.

This is a great cautionary tale, the impact home life and other things can have on young children. How wee, as adults, fail them despite the often seen grandstanding around the world. I believe the author is using his work as a cry for help in place of the children, conveying just how much fear they hold and why we should be the ones to seek out help for them, if not being the help ourselves.

Fuck Shizuka’s dad, 9.5/10

2. Call of The Night. Ep. 4

Kabura is so fine man. The scene of her changing was magical, I had goosebumps from it.

Seeing Kabura and Nazuna of the past was crazy. They’re so different that I almost would think they are different people, in Nazuna’s case, is she a different person? She uses the name Haru after all, could be crazy twin or the like, but I doubt it. I do believe it is Nazuna here, or at least someone she used to be before becoming who she is now, as in the case of memory loss.

It’s still the question left to be answered, but Kabura’s story was fantastic and sad. She was stuck in a world she felt she was didn’t belong or enjoyed for that matter, for her Haru was salvation. Although, that does leave the case of whether Haru was ever there because she cared, or because she wanted to turn Kabura.

Great episode, some might even call it fantastic, 9.4/10

3. Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. Ep. 4

I wonder why Akagi strays from Sakuta, the guy is so unproblematic that it’s difficult not to like him. Unrequited love perhaps? I doubt it, but it’s always a possibility.

Miniskirt Santa is up there, but not close to bunny girl. It seems all of this is stemming from the dreaming hashtag, and Akagi may be taking it upon herself to prevent certain things from happening. That is a big burden to bear, will Sakuta be able to help her from being hurt herself?

It was nice to see the old friends back together, 8/10

4. Gachiakuta. Ep. 3

I’m jumping this to S because I like a lot about it. The aesthetic and art style are great, it just feels right for this anime.

Enjin will likely be my favorite character in this anime, it’s easy to like the guy. Of course, Rudo is is easy to support as well. I pray he finds someone else to lke after the heartbreak up above.

Rudo vs Zanka was great. Picking a plunger as your weapon of use should be a war crime, and having my clothes slathered by it would make me want to die so I’ll say Rudo won that one.

WE’ve gotten silhouettes of the other cleaners and I hope to see more of them soon. Riyo, for example, is already great. She’s also got Hanamori Yumiri voicing her who has the calm voice of an angel. Also, the voice acting crew seems to be filled with star talent so hopefully that is a good sign for what is to come.

8.9/10, please put that plunger away

A: Very Good

Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.

5. The Rising of the Shield Hero. Ep. 4

Bro the animation of Atal spinning through the air was incredible. If she becomes strong then I’ll have no complaints despite the hate around her and her obsession with Naofumi. Fohl also seems be stronger than I thought, I only hope they use his character more since we’ve built him up a lot with this arc.

Jaralus deserved

Some very nice animation all around this episode, but the story was even better, it was a joy to watch. I’ve been hard on Fohl, but seeing how much he has sacrificed and strived to protect Atla and keep his promise, has brought me around to liking the guy. He even got a nice power up this episode, well deserved and it may be the coolest form in the whole anime.

9/10, I messes with Fohl now. 10/10 if Fohl blitzed everyone but alas.

6. Kaiju No. 8. Ep. 2

Not being able to perform when necessary is always difficult and embarrassing, you’re not alone Kafka.

Saying that, Kikoru stole the show this time around. Not only was she showing off against the ants, but she managed to land a great strike on number 9. Narumi was also impressive and I doubt he’s even at full strength quite yet, but that leaves us wondering about Kafka.

What’s keeping him from transforming? My money is on his own doubt now that he has lost control once. He’s bound to face criticism for this, but I hope he’ll be bale to get over the mental block if it is that.

8/10, transformation disfunction affects 1 in 9 kaiju’s.

7. Arknights: Rise from Ember. Ep. 4

Patriot is so cool man. One of my favorite character and designs even though we only see him for a little. What he represents, what he is willing to stand for, makes me respect him even if his ways of fighting for it have led down a path of full regret. If the story is able to make someone tear up at the death of enemy, that is a great success.

Amiya being the lord of fiends is a surprise, but I could never see her doing anything that outright leads to a massacre. But, hell is paved by good intentions. that reveal made this episode one of my favorites of the amine, the realization that there could still be a tragic ending even after all this struggle.

This is an amine for a game, but the animation team is doing a spectacular job, it’s unbelievable. The art style is great, the voice acting incredible, and some of the lighting just jaw dropping.

9/10, hit them with the one liners doctor.

8. Dan Da Dan. Ep. 17

Aria being good with kids makes her even better in my book. There is a universe where she is end game, but it isn’t this world. Best girl is still grandma Ayase of course. Her in a suit does something to me.

I like that we’re getting some progress in the romance between Momo and Okarun. This may be a series where they get together before the end and that would be nice.

Now, will JiJi learn to control Evil Eye? It would be interesting if they went that route since we have precedent for the other. Of course, they could do something like make Evil Eye a summon. They may just have to kill him with ending though, round two is up. Put him in a coffin Okarun.

8/10, MoKarun is still end game.

9. My Dress-Up Darling. Ep. 4

Cultural festival time baby. Now, in all honesty, I’m not a fan of the arcs from here on out, until the goated scene before it all ends of course. The focus becomes cosplay over romance, which is fine given the importance of cosplay in this anime.

With that said, a good cultural festival is pivotal to school romance anime. And this is sure to be great, especially with the source material Gojo is working with. I always love when an anime within an anime seems interesting, I look forward to the day a crazy studio decides to make it real as well one day.

While I may not enjoy the arcs as much, the characters are still a shining factor for this anime. Marin in general is a fantastic character who is easy to support. She’s caring and willing to put in the effort, but I don’t think it would turn out good. We need the boy on it, and I’m glad the class rallies behind him.

8/10, keep all outfit making equipment away from Marin.

10. Witch Watch, Ep. 16

Hey man, coming up with a game is difficult. Although, the group did make something that could be fun.

Calling them dangerous students is mean but I understand. Nico’s magic, for as much good she means, does cause some weird situations, but nothing I believe to be worried about. The brainwashing of the students wasn’t her fault after all. Still, it would be an interesting arc to see an arc where her magic is ostracized.

Nice of the president to realize the group isn’t dangerous, I think the check ins are more so he can spend time with them as well.

7/10, the world must know I fuck with their little dance.

B: Good/Solid

11. Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now wander the Dungeon. Ep. 4

Mishuel’s attacks are so well animated, I hope Boxxo gets attacks like that in the future as this anime never stops surprising me.

Of course Lammis is open minded, Boxxo is in for a great time if he ever gets to transform into a human again. It could happen while keeping his powers all the same.

That’s not what I look forward to however, I want to see just how many vending machines we can get in the anime. A gas vending machine is a real thing, yes, I look it up, so I hope to see some weirder ones as we go forward.

We making progress in saving the stratum, you know what vending machine the world wants Boxxo, 7.5/10

12. A Couple of Cuckoos. Ep. 4

Of all the girls, Amino and Ai are my favorite of the bunch. Sachi is family, and Hiro is terrible person. Amino, for all her faults, is a kind and caring person. On the other hand Ai is just as pretty as the others and isn’t afraid to convey how she feels which is always an attractive characteristics.

Unfortunately, Kazuya syndrome is strong with Nagi and he can’t see past his self placed blinds to the diamonds right before him. What this anime does do well is keep us guessing as to who will win. We don’t know, the author doesn’t know, the OP animators think they know, and that at least givers us something to look forward to. Amino or Ai, anyone else and I’m putting this up there with domestic girlfriend.

I really liked Ai’s outfit for the festival, it has her own spin on it. I like her even more since she doesn’t like Hiro, truly best girl. Ai’s performance was nice as well, I always wondered how they would animate it and it turned out way better than I thought.

My pick for best cosplay? The announcer.

6.7/10 don’t let it get to your head Nagi, Ai performance 10/10

C: It’s ok/Fine

These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.

13. Watari-Kun’s ****** Is about to Collapse. Ep. 4

I agree that it is different to be seen and to show.

Satsuki confuses me a little. I’m not sure if she wants to be with Naoto, or to be at his side in some way or form. While I have nothing against Ishihara, I do like Satsuki more. It’s the confidence that draws me in, though Ishihara is a sweetheart.

With that said, we’re wasting time with a love triangle here. Especially since I’m sure that Satsuki will win, I can just tell. I feel it in my goon sense.

Seems Satsuki and… Tokui are both straying from their love so that is likely the pairs once they chase what they want, but it would be crazy for them to be a thing. Still, given the cover art we have another girl incoming. Maybe I’ll like her, maybe.

For now, Satsuki for the win.

6.5/10, maybe I’ll cheat and check out the manga.

D: Do Not Recommend

Shows I do not recommend you watch for various issues.

F: Bad

Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.

Last. Rent a Girlfriend. Ep. 40

Ohhhhhhh, that scene is finally here! This season has some of the most out of pocket scenes that are hilarious to watch. One of which is the legendary condom scene, I just can’t man. But oh boy, you all have no idea what is coming. Strap in for the hate watch.

For as much hate as Mami gets, she’s way more interesting than Chizuru will ever be. Where Chizuru is an indecisive bore, Mami at least a villain that is easy to watch because you wonder about her reason for doing all this and at least she is doing something. She’s the biggest weirdo of the girls, but she’s interesting. Most importantly of all, she’s going to call out Chizuru and nothing could make me happier.

If Kazuya chose to be with Ruka that would give this anime a redeeming factor, but we’re too deep now. I once read a theory that Ruka has a NTR fetish and that is the plot which would make this one of the greatest stories to ever be told, but we all know we’re not that lucky.

Instead, we’re doomed to to watch Chizuru and Kazuya have a terrible and confusing relationship based on obsession and indecision.

3/10 we got actual good girls this episode.
