Anime Summer 2025 weekly ranking August 8th to August 14th

These rankings are as of the episodes premiering August 8th to August 14th

S: Must Watch

Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.

1. Call of The Night. Ep. 6

It’s not surprising that Nazuna isn’t sad about losing her parent since she’s never met them. The connections was just never there, though it’s that she has formed some she can cherish now.

Has the Kabura arc finished? My heart breaks and I hope we’ll get more of her in the future, she is best girl after all.

As we move on, we are going to focus on another of the vampires that could be high up in fan rankings, Midori herself.

you know, I always thought vampires would just get fit naturally. But, where Love-kun lacks physical attractiveness, he’s got spades in personality.

If you haven’t taken a leap into art and realized you suck at it, you haven’t lived. I hope we see more of Love-Kun, though I believe he may be used as a death to emphasize the danger Anko is as we progress this season.

9/10, making smut of you crush is next level stuff.

2. Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. Ep. 6

Sakuta saying he is good at remembering was pretty spot on.

The rumors of Akagi caught me off guard, though I’ve seen crazier from less suspicious. For it to be true was even more surprising, though the guy doesn’t seem to be much older. Akagi just seems like a great partner while the guy is the common doesn’t know how good you have it type.

Seems the syndrome stems from Akagi’s regret. And that is something I believe everyone can relate to. I don’t think it’s bad to have regret, there are certainly decisions that would have been better for all us, but allowing it build and have such negative effects is where it becomes harmful. It’s best to learn, to accept we can’t change our decisions but make better ones as we live.

9/10, crazy that Futaba isn’t cuffed.

3. Gachiakuta. Ep. 5

Shout to Gris, Rudo needed that conversation and he’s a great guy for being able to even talk to someone as he does. The lands below seem like my kind of place, they have good taste in music.

Rudo has only been down below for days at most and already has most of the place after him. Understandable given what the spherites have down to the planet, I only hope he loses the Kafka performance nerves before we get a high level loss here as well.

The raiders are an interesting addition to this anime as I was wondering if there were other givers others than the cleaners themselves. We’ve only gotten glimpses of it so far, but I wonder how powerful we’ll see givers get.

9/10, good lord the receptionist is fine.

A: Very Good

Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.

4. Kaiju No. 8. Ep. 16

Brother. just what is No. 9. Better yet, just what is Isao. Immediate response, no fear, just straight business from the man himself. Man he’s cool. You’re telling me he was stronger before? After the performance he gave, my god. Kudos to the team, the final sequence was phenomenal, a proper send off to Isao.

If No. 9 is able to to fuse and absorb others, I find it difficult to see how to beat it. Given that even the strongest of the defense force are helpless to it by the end, I hope it’s defeat will be satisfying. But that requires sacrifice that I doubt we will see from this anime. Still, I’m sure it will be fun to watch.

9/10, shoutout to Kurusu, just as badass as Isao.

5. The Rising of the Shield Hero. Ep. 6

Time for Q’ten Lo!

Naofumi is much more likable around the people he rules over. Makes sense, this world has a surprising amount of annoying folks.

Maid outfits transcend time and worlds it seems.

I like that we’re seeing more of the heroes, specifically the demon himself, n. They’ll need to get closer for Fitiora as well and before the phoenix arrives.

Since we’re preparing for a major arc now, I’d like to ask about the endgame of this series. Is this a world where the summoned heroes return to their world once done? I believe that won’t be the case, though it would be interesting.

As the emperor is after Naofumi and his group, I wonder who our companions on land will be if any. This arc will be what decides what Naofumi’s and Raphtelia’s relationship ends up being. I’m fine with anything really, but it is always nice to see characters grow closer.

7.6/10, the teaser images for this anime are incredible. I love Raph-Chan

6. Dan Da Dan. Ep. 19

Something that isn’t done enough in anime is taking stylistic risks. I think the backlash against Chainsaw man made many others stray from such things, though I loved Chainsaw man’s direction.

Dan Da Dan does so this episode, the heavy use of music and skipping still images was a great way to show Momo’s loss of sanity over her shift and was well done overall. By nature, this anime is one not afraid to be weird and I love it for it. But not as much as I messes with Okarun, that’s a man right there.

You know, for a group trying to prevent the appearance of Evil Eye, they sure suck at it. Then again, it’s difficult not prevent the guy being hit by cold water. Still, if evil eye is becoming stronger, then I believe they made the wrong choice.

Thoroughly enjoyed this episode, Okarun has all my support.

8.5/10, the beef is growing strong

7. My Dress-Up Darling. Ep. 18

You have to understand how good curry is to see why class 3 was going crazy.

A big theme this season seems to be nerves, glad people of all ranges and worlds experience such worries. Gojo’s are very understandable, such pressure is never to deal with but inspiration from a pretty girl often does the trick.

I really enjoyed how they displayed Gojo’s talent in this episode. He gives the utmost care to his work, and it came out amazing because of it.

The best part was Gojo admiring Marin however. It’s not done in the terrible fashion like in rent a girlfriend, I can feel that Gojo is falling for Marin more and more by the second. The way he speaks of her isn’t one of just blind attraction, the words he uses are as beautiful as he believes Marin to be.

Wonderful.

8/10, shoutout to Cloverworks for giving Gojo a transformation scene.

8. Witch Watch, Ep. 19

Seeing more of Nico and Moi in their child days is nice. It helps build their relationships more than what we already have which is strong as well as we’ve seen many scenes of their relationship flourishing. Still, these past scenes are adorable and it’s fun to see how much of a rascal Nico was.

Personally, ripping a letter I wrote for someone special would send me into rage as well. With that said however, is this the first time we’ve seen Nico use her magic to harm people?

Knowing that moi is enjoying life makes me happy. Seeing a stand up guy doing well is always a great time.

Knowing that the letter could be a curse is kind of funny despite the sweet intentions behind it. Of course, I see no ending without them as a couple, but

8/10, I too need extreme concentration when writing

B: Good/Solid

9. The Water Magician. Ep. 6

Saying it’s personal preference is akin to revealing someone’s entire life has been a lie.

You know, I don’t think we are getting enough of Ryo. It can be both a bad and good thing. Often, Isekai’s like fulfil the ever important and grandois fantasies whereas this anime is focusing on Ryo just living a nice life. It’s nice as well, but I want to see the guy put the paws on someone some more.

Ryo is still very nice however, even helping from afar when he must. Or up close with Abel when need be, put them in a coffin Ryo!

With the disappearance of the group in the dungeon, I believe this will be what forces Ryo to act as well. Action incoming!

7.5/10, we got some action

10. A Couple of Cuckoos. Ep. 6

Ah yes, the spirited away arc. Somewhat.

Maybe I should catch up on the manga, I really want to know who end game is. My brain says Erika, my heart says Ai, the crazy people say Sachi, but what we should fear is Hiro being end game.

Being alone with a pretty girl in a hotel is more common then one might think. What’s even more surprising is that it can happen out of nowhere just like it did here, though staying calm is something that Nagi has to work on. then again, I wasn’t bit.

I enjoyed Erika this episode. Her willingness to resist her mother’s will and decide for herself is nice to see given the situation of arranged marriage. She’s not the brightest in the world, but she’s easy to like and inheriting a billion dollars so that makes her best girl in my book.

7/10, All my homies think Hiro is weird.

11. Watari-Kun’s ****** Is about to Collapse. Ep. 6

So Watari was a bad influence, color me surprised!

What I will say about this anime is that convey the nerve wrecking emotions that love brings to the youth. Being so young and inexperienced makes the droves of emotions confusing and even sickening at times. But, looking back, there was some fun to it as well. Dating only gets worse so enjoy the innocence of youthful love!

Now, Watari is mixed bag who doesn’t understand the emotions he feels. It’s clear he cares a lot for Satsuki, though he fails to understand how much he does and what it means himself. He does question himself this episode however, so that was nice in itself.

Confessions are probably the most difficult thing someone could ever do. A failed confession is an event that will stick to mind for eternity as well. But Ishihara is in a lucky position, or maybe not given who Watari is.

ahhh 7/10, the ending resolution was nice, Watari showed some nice courage.

C: It’s ok/Fine

These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.

D: Do Not Recommend

Shows I do not recommend you watch for various issues.

F: Bad

Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.

Last. Rent a Girlfriend. Ep. 43

Oh yea, Mami has got connections. Honestly, she makes the show fun and will be the voice of reason soon enough.

The real question is, could Ruka go back to e with the glasses guy by the end of it all? she deserves someone who wants her as much as she kazuya, but I guess there just isn’t any attraction there. Maybe, just maybe, we get a Yaoi of Ruka and another of the girls.

legit, the simple solution is just switch rooms when grandma isn’t watching, but we don’t think in this anime.

Here’s the important part, ranking the girls in swimsuits:

  1. Ruka

  2. Mami

  3. The random girls in the pool

  4. Chizuru

3/10, I’m not biased.

Some words

More to come soon!
